Dr. Zeiger has announced that the “Celebration of Life for Dori Anne Steele” will be held at the University of Maryland Memorial Chapel in College Park, Maryland from 12 noon to 2pm on Sunday, May 23, 2010.
Dr. Zeiger views this event as a time of healing for all those who knew Dori as a dear friend, passionate writer, competent colleague, and a loyal, loving family member. Dori was a great person and to know her was to love her. She touched many with her sweet personality and unpretentious spirit. Dr. Zeiger invites you to come and share your thoughts on this beautiful woman, who will be missed tremendously, much more than words can say.

The Gazette newspaper ran an article on April 14, 2010 about Dori's life and some of the reasons surrounding what seems to many, an untimely and shocking passing of the brightly shining star, we called Dori. No article could adequately cover her entire life, but this will give many of you reasons for her death. Dr. Zeiger hopes this will answer many of your questions and hopes it helps all who knew her to move through the healing process.

Memorial contributions can still be made to Food and Friends, 219 Riggs Rd. NE, Washington, DC 20011 or Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Rd., Kanab, Utah 84741-5000. As many of you know, Dori was a great lover of animals and this may be one of the best ways to honor her memory.

Dr. Zeiger and her late spouse Dori Anne Steele, who were legally married in Canada and California, will now have their union recognized in Maryland. Due to the unexpected death of Dori, they will not be able to fully realize that end. However, you can still read below for more details on how Maryland will now recognize same-sex marriages legally performed elsewhere.
Although this has been an extremely difficult period for Dr. Zeiger, she is continuing to see clients and teach her class at the University of Maryland. If you would like to make an appointment, call the office at the number listed below or send an email to her.
