Specializing in LGBTQ Issues
Welcome to my therapy practice. I have been in practice for over 40 years and I specialize in serving LGBTQ individuals and couples in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area, including many Maryland and Northern Virginia communities. The InterCounty Connector (ICC) makes travel to my location easy, convenient and accessible to the I95/495 Beltway from almost anywhere in the Washington, DC region.

In addition to working with the LGBTQ community, I also have a passion for helping clients heal from the loss of a pet. To facilitate your first appointment, please complete the New Client Questionnaire. This will help to focus on the areas that you would like to discuss when we meet.

My practice areas…
LGBTQ
I specialize in helping my LGBTQ clients overcome anxiety in the home, workplace and social settings, where homophobia has impacted your life. As an “out” lesbian practitioner, I understand the impact this issue may cause.
RELATIONSHIPS
Relationships can be difficult, but we work on communication and self-esteem to help mitigate many of life’s challenges. We explore the diversity of relationships in a non-judgmental, safe, and caring atmosphere.
COUPLES THERAPY
I am a certified IMAGO Relationship Therapist, which is a wholistic technique developed by couples therapy co-founder Harville Hendrix, PhD and his partner Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhD. This method specializes in conflict resolution for newlyweds to couples with many years together.
TRANSGENDER THERAPY
I strive to help my clients work on the ways that transphobia and homophobia have impacted their lives. My style is very interactive and I highly value your confidentiality.
PET LOSS
I work with clients who have lost pets, working through bereavement and healing. Pets are integral part of the therapeutic journey and are essential in healing from many childhood wounds. Losing a pet can be another wound that needs healing and I will work with you to get through the process.
ADULT CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICS
Being an adult child of a parent who is an alcoholic is challenging for many reasons. I work with my clients on setting boundaries with the parent who is the alcoholic and keeping safe while healing from wounds that the parent may have inflicted.
